As of 28 March 2025, the FireUp job board hosts 263 fire and forestry employers across ten industry types, with 2,332+ active job postings.
In the past month, private companies have added 385 roles, making up the bulk of our new jobs. Private companies lead the job boards with 1221 jobs, followed by state agencies (347 jobs) and nonprofits (293 jobs).
In contrast to last month’s data, state agencies jobs are down by 163 roles. Our top 3 employers are private companies (Davey Tree Expert Co., Asplundh Tree Expert Co, and Esri). Total jobs on the platform continue to rise.
Our employer type trends hold steady as well, with the most private companies utilizing the site for job postings, followed by nonprofits and firetech startups. The top new jobs this month were from private companies, state agencies, and nonprofits.
Talent Profile
As of March 27, FireUp has 202 members in the Talent Network. This number has doubled since January!
Nearly half of FireUp’s talent network is early career (less than six years of experience), although 25% members boast 22, 28, and even 38 years of experience.
The FireUp Talent Network has at least 3-5 years of prior work experience with skills such as project management, operations, administration, data science, marketing and communications.
Talent’s past experience reflects a range of backgrounds, including firefighters, business owner/operators, researchers, graduate students, and more, see breakdown below.
Over half of our candidates are actively seeking new roles, while 34% are open to the right opportunity.
In total, 112 job applications were submitted through the FireUp job board in March, with the greatest number of applications going to private companies (31), followed by nonprofits (23) and state agencies (19). This month, the greatest interest from our talent pool was in IT and data science-related roles, followed by forestry operations roles. The FireUp job board had 31 new subscribers this past month, consistent with the increase in our talent network.
