For Talent

As of December, the FireUp job board hosts 257 fire and forestry employers across ten industry types, with 1,500 active job postings daily. The western United States reflects the highest concentration of active employers and jobs.

In the past month, private companies had the most active jobs on the platform (700) followed by state agencies (244), non-profits (180), and federal agencies (150). In terms of job functions, roles in Operations (1365), followed by IT (889), People & HR (681), and Administration (438) roles, were the most listed across employer types. Operational roles also received the most clicks from potential job applicants.

144 job applications were submitted through the FireUp job board in November, with the greatest number of applications going to jobs in California. The top employers to receive applications from FireUp’s job board this month were the County of Los Angeles, followed by the Northwest Youth Corps, California Conservation Corps, Conservation Legacy, Western Fire Chiefs Association, Gridware, the Bureau of Land Management, and the State of Washington.

The total jobs on our platform have dropped since end October as we near the end of the year and continuously refine our criteria for fire and forestry-specific roles. Even as wider hiring trends indicate a slowdown over the holidays, we expect to see an uptick in the new year.

Stay tuned for our upcoming virtual career fairs where we’ll be inviting a range of employers to meet with FireUp’s Talent Network and present opportunities in 2025. In the meantime, register here to upskill in time for 2025 hiring season with FireUp’s Job, Career, and Life Ready Courses!
